SOS Video Submission – Instructions

As part of the prerequisite requirements for SOS Certification, please use the following instructions for submiting of a video of a full Feeding Therapy Session.  This video will be reviewed for clinical competency by an  SOS Certification Professor.

  1. Go to www.youtube.com.
  2. Create an account or log in.
  3. In the upper right corner of your screen, click the ‘Upload’ button.
  4. Select ‘PRIVATE’ from the dropdown menu (default is ‘PUBLIC’ and you do NOT want that, all SOS Video Submissions videos must be listed as ‘PRIVATE’).
  5. Click the gray/red arrow to select the video file from your computer you want to upload (you can also just drag and drop the file onto the arrow).
    1. Your video will first upload, then it will process. Please note the upload/processing time varies based on internet connection speed, but typically takes 15-45 minutes for this length of video clip.
  6. While your video is uploading/processing enter the following information:
    1. ‘Basic Info’ Tab:
      1. Name your video file using the following template:
        1. SOSVIDEOSUBMISSIONYOURLASTNAME (i.e. SOSVIDEOSUBMISSIONKORTSHA).
        2. DO NOT use the client’s name in the file name for privacy reasons.
      2. Double check security settings is ‘PRIVATE’ (right side of screen).
        1. Below security setting is a ‘SHARE’ button. Click this button and share permission with [email protected].
        2. Double check the ‘Notify With Email’ box is checked before clicking ‘OK’.
        3. With ‘PRIVATE’ YouTube Settings, all participant’s email must be given permission to view the video. If they do not have permissions, even if they have the Video URL they will be unable to view it personally or via Blackboard.
      3. ‘Advanced Settings’ Tab:
        1. For maximum privacy and security, un-check all boxes.
  7. When it has finished uploading/processing, click ‘Done’ to finalize your video.
  8. On the ‘Done’ screen, Copy video URL (Your video is now ready at https://youtu.be/XXXXXX). Save this URL onto your Case Presentation Document in the Header.
  9. If needed, you can return to the Basic Information and Advanced Setting tables by clicking ‘Video Manager’ button on your YouTube homepage. Then select ‘Edit Video’.
